✦ A Day in Westbank: Hiking Edition ✦

There’s something about Westbank mornings — the way the light hits the mountains, the smell of pine + dust + distant coffee. Woke up restless, craving dirt under my boots and that quiet headspace you only get when you’re somewhere way bigger than yourself.

✦ Mount Boucherie ✦

Started the day at Mount Boucherie, because nothing clears your brain faster than a steep climb and some good old-fashioned self-doubt halfway up. The trail twists through volcanic rock and wild sage, and every turn hits you with a new kind of Okanagan beauty.

By the time I reached the lookout, I was sweaty, euphoric, and mildly existential — staring out over Okanagan Lake like, wow… we really live on a floating rock, huh?

Mood: alive, slightly sunburned, fully reborn.

✦ Flume Trail Trailhead ✦

Next up — Flume Trail Trailhead. More chill, more foresty, more “let’s just walk and breathe” kind of vibe. Trees swaying, water trickling nearby, and birds doing their endless soundtrack thing.
There’s something ancient in the air here — like the forest knows secrets and might tell you if you just slow down enough.

Side thought: the sound of boots crunching on dirt might be the closest thing to therapy.

✦ Powers Creek Trail ✦

Ended the day at Powers Creek Trail, a mellow, winding path that runs along the water. Sun filtering through the trees, that golden-hour glow making everything look cinematic.
Sat on a rock for a while, just listening to the creek — no headphones, no distractions, just flow. The kind of moment where time stops and all you can do is breathe.

Mood: peace, finally.
