✦ Peelerz Fruit Snack Review — Peach, Mango, Banana & Green Apple ✦
I decided to give Peelerz a shot, grabbing a few different flavors in hopes of finding that nostalgic, fruity, stoner snack energy. The packaging looked promising—bright colors, playful design, definitely the kind of thing you'd expect to be a fun treat. Unfortunately, the reality didn't match the hype at all.
Peach: Honestly, this one was a straight-up letdown from the first bite. The peach flavor tastes weirdly artificial, almost as if someone tried to synthesize the idea of peach without ever actually eating one. It has a waxy, candle-like aftertaste that clings to your mouth in the most unpleasant way. It's the sort of thing you keep chewing, hoping it'll improve, but it just gets worse. I couldn't even finish the piece. If you're thinking about trying this one, do yourself a favor and grab an actual peach instead.
Mango: I had high hopes for mango since it's normally a crowd-pleaser in candy form, but this was just painfully mediocre. There’s a hint of sweetness, but the flavor is oddly muted and leans more toward a generic, vitamin-y taste than juicy, ripe mango. It's one of those snacks where you keep waiting for the flavor to develop but it never really gets there. It's not offensive, just boring and forgettable—not something I'd reach for again.
Banana: As a fan of banana-flavored snacks, I was especially disappointed by this one. The texture is off—somewhere between chalky and chewy, but not in a satisfying way. The flavor is aggressively artificial, almost reminiscent of those super cheap, old-school banana taffies that always get left at the bottom of the Halloween candy pile. It manages to taste both overly sweet and weirdly flat at the same time. I couldn't even finish the strip, which says a lot.
Green Apple: Out of all the flavors, this one was the most tolerable, but that's not saying much. The tartness is there, which at least makes it more interesting than the others, but it still has that unmistakable fake, plasticky backdrop. It’s the only flavor I could see myself maybe eating if I was desperate for something fruity and there was absolutely nothing else around. Still, it's hardly a ringing endorsement.
Overall, Peelerz just feel like a missed opportunity. The concept is cute and the presentation is eye-catching, but the execution falls short. The textures are strange—too rubbery and not at all satisfying to chew. The flavors taste more like a chemistry experiment than something you'd actually want to snack on. It's one of those products that seems designed to be Instagrammable rather than genuinely tasty. At the end of the day, these are the kind of snacks that look way better in the package than they taste. If you're looking for a fun, nostalgic treat, I'd suggest skipping Peelerz and reaching for something classic instead. Unless you're really desperate for a snack and green apple is the only option, I'd leave these on the shelf.
