✦ Westbank Wine Trail Pt. 3 ✦

✦ Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery ✦

lake views, sunburned shoulders + smooth reds

Rolled up to Mt. Boucherie on a hazy Westbank afternoon, the kind where the sun hits just right and makes everything feel golden. The first thing you notice? The view. Okanagan Lake shimmering below, vineyard rows climbing like they’ve been painted by someone who actually gets sunsets.

The winery itself is classy but not stiff — like it knows it’s fancy but doesn’t need to shove it in your face. There’s a warm, welcoming energy that makes you want to settle in, sip slow, and just exist for a while.

✦ The Wine ✦

I tried a few tastings, and the Cabernet Sauvignon was a standout — bold, velvety, and perfect for lazy contemplation. The whites were crisp and bright, like morning light distilled into a glass. Everything tasted like it had been grown with care, sun, and a little bit of mountain magic.

Staff were friendly, patient, and knew their stuff — guiding me through the flights without the usual snobbery. They made it easy to lose track of time, staring out at the lake, letting each sip hang a little longer than it should.

✦ The Vibe ✦

Mt. Boucherie isn’t trying to be edgy or dramatic. It’s confident, grounded, and calm — like that friend who’s always chill but somehow radiates quiet power. Perfect for a slow afternoon, journaling, or just soaking up the sun on the patio with your favorite playlist.

Best paired with: sunlight on your face, soft acoustic tunes, and a mellow buzz.

✦ Little Straw Vineyards ✦

family roots, sun-kissed grapes + barefoot vibes

This little family-run spot feels like a secret passed down the hills, all charm and warmth and zero pretense.

✦ The Wine ✦

Their Pinot Gris is like sunshine in a glass — light, playful, crisp, perfect for lingering in the sun while your brain does its slow-drifting stoner thing. The reds are earthy and steady, comforting, like a hug you didn’t know you needed. Every sip tastes like someone cared — about the grapes, the soil, the process, and the people who’ll drink it.

✦ The Vibe ✦

Little Straw is all heart and coziness. The family running it is genuine and welcoming — like they want you to feel at home, sip your wine, and forget about the world outside. The vines stretch lazily across the hills, the air smells of earth and sun, and the whole place whispers: slow down, this is life.

Best paired with: soft tunes, toes in the grass, a notebook for doodles or thoughts, and a mellow buzz.

✦ Rollingdale Winery ✦

organic vibes, sun-drenched hills + untamed grapes

Rolling into Rollingdale Winery, you instantly feel it — this isn’t a polished, corporate tasting room. It’s earthy, raw, and a little rebellious. The vineyards stretch wide and low, sun spilling over the slopes, wind teasing the leaves, giving the place a pulse that’s alive.

✦ The Wine ✦

Their Riesling hits crisp, bright, and playful — like sunlight trapped in a glass. The reds carry depth and character, hints of smoke and earth that remind you the land is alive. Every bottle tastes intentional, grown with care, organic practices, and a little bit of wild magic.

It’s the kind of wine that makes you pause, close your eyes, and really taste the place, not just the grape.

✦ The Vibe ✦

Rollingdale is lowkey magical — casual, grounded, and open. Perfect for wandering barefoot among the vines, chatting with staff who clearly love what they do, or just sitting on the patio letting the sun warm your shoulders while sipping slow.

Best paired with: dirt under your nails, soft tunes in the background, and a mellow afternoon haze.

✦ Grizzli Winery ✦

fancy vibes, meh wine, overpriced everything

Rolled up to Grizzli Winery expecting something epic — big labels, bold views, maybe a little charm. What I got… was fine. Like, technically fine. But it felt staged, polished to a shine, and kind of missing soul.

The reds were okay — nothing that made me pause and think, wow. The whites were crisp but generic, like someone read a recipe and forgot the love.

✦ The Vibe ✦

Grizzli is sleek and shiny, perfect for Instagram angles and suits. But for me? It lacked heart. Felt a little too corporate, a little too curated. The staff were polite, but it didn’t feel personal or memorable — more like checking a box on a “tourist winery” list.

Best paired with: a quick photo, a polite nod, and then moving on to somewhere with real character.
