π Planet Gummi — A Sticky Letdown from Outer Space π
After hearing all the hype, I was genuinely excited to finally try Planet Gummi candies for myself. Their appearance is truly something special—each piece looks like a vibrant, miniature planet with a glossy sheen that practically begs you to snap a photo. They’re visually stunning, and I can see why people love showing them off on social media or using them as props in videos and unboxings. In terms of presentation, they’re easily a 10 out of 10, and I went in expecting the taste to match that level of excitement.
Unfortunately, the experience went downhill the moment I actually tried one. The texture was the first red flag. Instead of the satisfying chew you’d expect from a good gummy, these felt oddly rubbery and tough, almost like biting into a stress ball that refuses to break down. It’s an unpleasant in-between—neither soft enough to be enjoyable nor firm enough to be satisfying. It left me wondering how something that looks so fun could feel so awkward to eat.
Then there’s the liquid center, which I assumed would be a highlight. In reality, it’s a jarring burst of syrupy sweetness that completely overpowers any other flavor. The artificial taste is unmistakable, almost medicinal, and it lingers in your mouth longer than you’d like. Instead of complementing the gummy shell, the filling just makes the whole experience overwhelming and cloying.
What’s really disappointing is that Planet Gummi had so much potential. They’re clearly designed to be eye-catching and photogenic, and they absolutely deliver on that front. But when it comes to actually enjoying them as a treat, they fall flat. The mismatch between their looks and taste is hard to ignore, and I can’t help but feel let down after all the anticipation. If you’re looking for a candy that’s more about the experience of eating than just how it looks, you might want to skip these. They’re perfect for a quick Instagram story or to impress your friends with their otherworldly appearance, but when it comes to flavor and texture. After trying one, I was left wishing I’d stuck to just admiring them from afar.
Vibe: Alien invasion of bad flavor.
Rating: π 2/10
Final Thought: Cute for the gram, trash for the taste buds. I’ll pass next time.
